Getting to know Aafreen:

What do you do for fun when you’re not working?
I love finding new places to explore – whether it's a local festival, a new restaurant, or a metro park I haven't hiked, I'm always thrilled to find a new gem. I also enjoy traveling the state, the country and the world with my family whenever possible. We've come to value experiences over "stuff" and I welcome any opportunity to instill a sense of worldliness in my son and daughter.
If you lived on a desert island what would you miss the most?
I would miss the seasons. Seeing the first signs of spring in the form of buds on the trees in the springtime or leaves changing in the fall always brings a smile to my face and reminds me to appreciate the small things.
What is your favorite quote?
"When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” – Maya Angelou
What would you like your legacy to be?
One of helping others whenever possible. Whether it is offering a hand, an ear or a word of encouragement, I’d like my two children to remember that any extra energy we have should be used to improve the day or life of someone else.
