Account Executive, Public Relations

Paul Werth Associates is seeking an Account Executive to implement a wide variety of client programs. The successful applicant will serve as a day-to-day contact with clients and leverage Werth’s full range of resources to provide innovative, results-oriented service in a cost-effective manner.

In addition to exceptional writing, media relations and social media skills, successful candidates will possess competency to:

  • Serve as member of client account teams; foster client-firm relationships to build trust and become a valuable resource to the client.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the development of account plans and ideas.
  • Develop a full range of written materials including press releases, social media content, bylined articles, speeches, client correspondence and reports.
  • Plan and implement media events, press conferences and briefings, media tours and promotional events.
  • Research and place stories with target media; develop and maintain positive working relationships with editorial and media contacts; monitor and track media success metrics.
  • Explore and create opportunities for incremental business growth within client organizations.
  • Develop and monitor client plans and budgets for account profitability; report status to client and firm management.
  • Establish client success metrics and monitor and report regularly.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, English, marketing, business or a related field.
  • Four to six years of experience in public relations or similar position in a non-agency setting.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills; ability to interact professionally with clients; strong time- and self-management skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of health care, education or financial services is a plus.

Paul Werth Associates is seeking an Account Supervisor responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing client programs that are strategically on target with the clients’ objectives. The Account Supervisor also will explore and create opportunities for incremental business growth within client organizations.

In addition to exceptional writing and project management, successful candidates will possess competency to:

  • Serve as client account team leader; continually foster client-firm relationships to build trust and become a valuable resource to the client.
  • Develop and monitor client plans and budgets for account profitability; report status to client and firm management.
  • Create written materials including press releases, social media content, bylined articles, speeches, meeting minutes, client correspondence, strategic plans, proposals and reports.
  • Facilitate teamwork, coordinate team resources and mentor associates to assume more responsibility on account teams.
  • Set standards of excellence and lead by example.
  • Create opportunities for incremental business growth within client organizations.
  • Expand knowledge and insight of clients’ businesses and competitive environments; apply this information in the preparation and presentation of strategically focused programs and recommendations.
  • Establish client success metrics and monitor and report regularly.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, business or related field.
  • A minimum of eight to ten years of public relations experience including project management and preferably a minimum of two years of agency experience.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills; ability to interact professionally with clients; strong time- and self-management skills.
  • Ability to manage/expand mid- and large-sized accounts.

Vice President, Public Relations

Paul Werth Associates is seeking a Vice President responsible for the overall management of client relationships, senior-level account planning and supervision for a number of accounts. The Vice President serves as a strategic link between the client, account teams and the firm’s management.

In addition to exceptional writing, management and development skills, successful candidates will possess competency to:

  • Serve as senior contact for clients, demonstrate in-depth knowledge of clients’ businesses; develop strategy for implementing successful client programs.
  • Mentor others and facilitate collaboration within the firm and with clients.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address client needs.
  • Build media relations competency within the firm to make it world class. Responsible for maintaining Internet protocols, media-tracking reports and media monitoring reports.
  • Troubleshoot clients’ issues as they arise.
  • Exhibit skill in writing and editing client materials, including media materials, plans, bylined articles, social media content, client correspondence, proposals and reports.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others.
  • Manage accounts’ financials, including budget allocation and control, timekeeping, client billing; ensure team’s billable efficiency and account profitability.
  • Establish client success metrics and monitor and report regularly.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, business, marketing, English or a related field. Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of agency and/or corporate public relations experience with an emphasis on managing accounts and teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, mentoring and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills; ability to interact professionally with clients; strong time- and self-management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Knowledge of health care, education or financial services is a plus.
