The second generation to lead the firm founded by her father in 1963, Sandra Werth Harbrecht embraces Paul Werth’s belief that public relations is first and foremost about building trust and credibility for clients with their stakeholders. Under Ms. Harbrecht, Paul Werth Associates has gained national prominence for results-driven communications programs, while remaining faithful to the values on which the firm has staked its reputation. Ms. Harbrecht provides senior leadership and direction for the firm’s public relations, public affairs and marketing programs. She is an expert in strategic communications planning, organizational communications and public and social policy directed at hard-to-reach constituencies. She also is a nationally recognized facilitator in strategic planning, constituency consensus-building and crisis management.
Under Ms. Harbrecht, Paul Werth Associates has won eight of its nine Silver Anvil awards, the highest honor bestowed for public relations programming. The firm also has won many industry-specific awards for innovative client programs from, among others, the American Public Transit Association, American Hospital Association and Federal Highway Administration. Ms. Harbrecht previously worked at Bank One, Columbus NA, and was a teacher in the Worthington School District. She has served in leadership roles with community organizations, academia and her profession. Among her commitments, Ms. Harbrecht is chairman of the board of trustees at Kent State University, where she chaired the search committee for the university’s president.
